Lemosho Route 8 Days Trekking Adventure – Lemosho route is the third famous route to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and it approaches Kilimanjaro from west side, average 3hrs drive from Moshi/Arusha to the starting point, Londorosi gate. Climber encounters low traffic as the route is less populated, until the route joins Machame route at Shira 2 Camp. Summit successful rate for this route is the same as Machame route 85% but can be more because Climbers start hiking at high elevation point compared to other route, and from starting point to shira 2 camp is a gentle hiking, no too much hustle. Itinerary for this route can be customized in 7, 8 or/and 9 days.

8 Days, 7 nights Lemosho Route:
The arrival day you will be picked from Kilimanjaro International Airport to the hotel in Moshi town where you will have a rest and overnight. At the hotel you will meet with a mountain guide who will briefly explain to you the itinerary for the next day and all the essential information about climbing Mount Kilimanjaro including the route, hiking equipment and other important information.
The trek will start around 9.00hrs from your hotel/ our office to Londorosi Gate, then to Shira 1 Camp, all the way to Shira 2 Camp down the Valley to Barranco Camp via Lava tower, Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp for summit at night and later on descending from summit to Barafu Camp down to millenium Camp/ mweka Camp and last day descend to Mweka gate for exit.
Day 01: Londorosi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
After breakfast transfer from your hotel to National Park Forest, Londorosi gate. At the gate you will register all the important information including passport number, nationality, age etc. While on registration, the Assistant guide and the crew are organizing luggage and other staffs before the tour begun. After all process being completed you will walk through the undisturbed forest to Mti Mkubwa (Big tree) for rest dinner and overnight. Lunch box will be provided on the route. With luck, you will be able to see Colobus monkeys and signs of elephants.
Day 02: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp
After breakfast at Mti mkubwa camp, take your time to walk through the forest, which has fantastic bird life. You will pass through mountain forest, lunch box will be provided on the way and at shira1 camp you will have a rest, dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Shira One to Shira Two Camp
After breakfast at Shira one camp you will walk slowly to the next point, Shira two. A short break on the way, lunch box will be provided, and then trekking continues. At shira two points you will have a rest, dinner and overnight.
Day 04: Shira Two to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, hike up lava tower for acclimatize then, descending down to Barranco 3,850 meters above sea level, lunch box/hot lunch will be provided. At barranco camp you will have a rest, dinner and overnight.
Day 05: Barranco to Karanga Valley Camp
After breakfast at barranco, ascend to Karanga valley, for rest, dinner and overnight at Karanga campsite. Hot lunch/ lunch box will be provided on the way
Day 06: Karanga to Barafu Camp (Summit Overnight)
From Karanga Valley Camp ascend to Barafu Camp that is at the foot of Kibo Peak, this takes approximately 3 hours. At Barafu camp you will have enough rest and hot lunch, going to bed as early as possible because you will get up at 00:00hrs for hiking to summit. In the midnight, ascending to the summit Uhuru peak 5,895 meters above sea level starts, this takes 5-6hrs but it’s not much easy hiking.
At the dawning of the 7th day you will be at the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, there you can take a beautifully pictures of your lifetime adventure in Tanzania. After staying for not more than 30 minutes at the peak you will start descending slowly to Barafu Camp.
Day 07: Descend From Summit to Barafu Base Camp
After Uhuru peak, descend to Barafu camp for breakfast, short rest and then descend to Mweka campsite. Lunch box will be provided on the way, at mweka camp you will have a rest dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (Exit The Park)
In the morning at mweka camp you will have a last breakfast in the mountain, organizing your all stuffs, equipment and gears used for past seven days ready to leave the park.
It takes about 3 to 4 hours to descend from Mweka camp to mweka exit gate park. At Mweka gate a private car will be waiting you to aboard all the way to Moshi town at the hotel where you will have a rest, dinner and overnight.
If the departure is the same day then at a given time driver will drop you to airport.
